Can't measure GPU temps

Hi,

I have an ATI4850 and have been trying to find a simple tool that adds my GPU temp to the system tray. Apparently RealTemp can do this, but the GPU "show icon" checkbox in v3.40's settings is greyed out. GPU-z measures my GPU temperature fine (it just doesn't provide a temp reading in the system tray), so in theory I would have thought RealTemp wouldn't have any problems.

Is there a reason why this would be happening? Any help would be appreciated.

Try latest RealTemp beta.
Or you can try RivaTuner or his cousin MSI Afterburner.

The Beta kept crashing on launch, but setting it to Vista SP2 compatibility mode (I'm running Windows 7) seemed to fix it. Don't know what happened between the Beta and v3.40 to cause the crashes, as previously the program ran fine... In any case, the GPU option certainly works in this version, thank you!

If I could make one minor suggestion on this option, it'd be cool if the text colors for each option (GPU, Core0, Core1 etc) in the system tray could be customizable, other than that, it's fantastic.

Aaa, Settings and click on GPU/Core0/Core1 and pick a color. :)

LOL, I thought I gave it a good check before posting that.

Thank you again, now I'm completely sorted. :)

Well, maybe not completely - adjusting the color for the system tray item doesn't seem to hold between quitting and relaunching (or restarting Windows, naturally)... Just a quick something the developer could look into maybe, probably easily fixed.

Thanks for a great product.

AFAIK Apply button is only to see if you like what you change but settings are not remembered upon restart and OK button is for remembering settings.
TBH I forgot about RealTemp windows because I use only RealTemp plugin for RivaTuner. :)

I think I'd only been using OK anyway, but I just tested again - no difference in behaviour between that and the Apply button. Once you quit and relaunch, the text colors in the system tray revert to defaults. Not a dealbreaker by any stretch, but it'd be cool if the settings could persist. :)
