Hey guys I'm looking for a pair of headphones to wear for casual listening. I've been looking a little bit and found the Sony MDR 7506's for a good price and good reviews. I just didn't know if I would be able to use these with my phone. I heard something about you need a certain amount of power for them? I have a Samsung galaxy s4. I'd like some advice for a pair of over ear headphones for casual listening. As for music I listen to pretty much anything. Metal to rap and anything in between.

Yes, MDR7506 (and its sibling MDR-V6) are both very good and robust. However, as you pointed out, they can be slightly difficult to drive. They work just fine with phones though. My advice is to take a look at the Philips cityscape series if you want alternatives.

Thanks! By "drive" what does it mean? Am I going to lose any kind of sound quality or anything on my phone with these?

It will sound better if you use an amp, but I don't think you should buy an amp for it.
