Im a unfortunate victim of the infamous black screen sound loop issue, with so far half life 2 and that old unreal game, and also a couple of times will watching dvd movies it would wanna kick it the screen saver or whatever and it screwed up then too. however COD4 Bioshock and crysis all run fine so far for me

a email to chaintech didn't do much good, they think its my power supply which I know for a fact it is not. a update to the recent nvidia drivers didn't help ether. Anyway heres my bios info and what not

I think your 9600 GT is the overclocked version, did you try clock it to 650/900 and see what happens? Also please try ATI Tool artifact scanning.

that bios is first gen...you have a first gen card they were crazy notorius for this...here i just madde you a bios with the clocks shown in your gpu-z but this time i gave you the new bios dumped from one of my gen 2 cards. it might help you out :)

havent had any problem with it , and the cooler on it is awesome , doesn't go over 50C at stock , overclocked it to 760/2150/1850 and worked flawlessly. havent tried more overclock .

looks like 1st gen to me...

ok I tried rivatuner actually and underclocked it to normal speeds of 650 and 900, and I dono about half life 2(not installed at the moment) but It also had issues with the older Unreal game, but now with underclocking it didn't crash at all for the 20 minutes or so I played around on it, but did before after like 2-4 minutes or so. I'll keep underclocking it when needed, i'll update bios only when I have to of course, so thanks all for the help, I saved your bios just in case.

also im new to this rivatuner thing so anything I need to know about this program?

also just for info what should my idle temp be at for my card? its at 46C right now

your good mine idles at about 48

idk 25%-30% cause im at my desktop...and im running a stock cooler...AND my fan is partially blocked by my sound card..and im using MX2 so if im idling around that with mx2 and a partially blocked fan than he is doing fine with a stock cooler with probably no mods..you have to remember you have a way better cooler than we do ;)

ya , i didn't know that until some time back . when i got this card i thought it was another of those fancy good for nothing coolers . But i'm amazed by this cooler . What will be interesting to do is a comparison b/w this cooler and one of the zalman ones .
