Hello! I want to know if the bus width of a graphics card depends on the bios of the gpu or if this is the card that is designed as his thank you

Hi

This can be adjusted using small increments by overclocking the vga card memory; use Afterburner to find the sweet spot where maximum gains are achived versus heat and stability [this may achive a few fps more in games]

*Always make a backup of the vga vbios image before making any adjustments

No: this cannot be physically changed as the memory bus width is dependent on the memory architecture, speed (Mhz) and Mbit rate 64,128,192,256,384,512

More info here

Zotac 660 ti amp extrem
Memory Clock 6608 MHz
Memory Size 2GB
Memory Interface 192-bit
Memory Type
DDR5
Source

Note: Zoltac AMP revision of vga card is factory overclocked and will have been pushed very, very close to its maximum output of *approx 158.6 GB/sec, so any gains may be extreamly small or may cause instability.

the bus width depends on the memory and the type of memory,(GDDR5,GDDR3, etc)
there are very very very few cards that are unlockable via bios to change the memory bus width like the GTX465(very few of them)

so yea no is the answer, don't do it.

Hello! thank you very much for having answered me. So if I understand well it would be dangerous or even impossible to pass my zotac 660 ti 192 bit to 256 bit?

It's probably possible somehow, through BIOS, just nobody knows outside of AMD/NVIDIA, or won't tell.

Your understanding is correct; changing the vbios image from 192 bit to 256 bit will at best *brick the vga card and stop it from working

ok in any case thank you for having me clarify. I'll let the bios of my graphics card as it is and rather slightly increase the frequency with afterburner to try to gain some fps because I planned to flash my bios 660 ti with a 760 but since the memory bus is not the same, I will leave it.
