my friend want to know that whether the 915P ASUS motherboard can match with the 8600 GTS display card or not...

Depends, if the 915P Asus mobo has a PCI-E (aka PCI-Express) slot than yes.
Otherwise, it will have an AGP slot and it will not fit this card.

if by 915p you mean the type of chipset, then yes he can use the 8600 gts

Doenst matter about the chipset mate, it all depends on your expansion slot, whether its AGP or PCIe ;).

well 915p supports pci-e and not agp that's why im asking, but it's the same basic idea

Ahh true true, although you can get those AGP and PCIe ones :p (doesnt make a diff with this thread tho :D).

If the mobo has a PCI-E slot, almost sure It will run it perfectly.........just see if that model has a "VGA compatibility list" on the ASUS website, if not then you sure be happy with the results.

I'll say you this 'cause when I has my Gigabyte GA-M61VME-S2 mobo, It has a "compatibily list" for VGA cards and when I tried to install a ZOGIS 7300GT the mobo rejected me, and when I sold it the card runs perfectly with the other system.

SALUDOS!!!
