is it just me because i have been relizeing that the prices of the core2 duos have been dropping rappidly just yesterday the e6600 was $220 now its $218 and the e6400 was $220 and now its $218 do they do up in price too or just down bc i am planning to get an e6600 the end of this summer (end of august) and if they keep dropping 2 bucks a day for another 2 months and then a dollar after that then taht would be very nice what do u expect theyll drop to by end of august?

i remember at the beginning of this year they had a press release that said they would be dropping price in the second quarter

Man thats opposite to where we are!

I got the E6400 (at the start of the year), which was $248 or something, now its $305!

The E6300 went from $198 to $250ish.

I guess we r just delayed - and they are probably going down due to the release of Quad core.

:wtf: E6600 for $218 I think you got the wrong model # if not where did you see those prices

prices of lower end c2d will drop 20% and higher end 40%. This will include the Q6600 (quadcore) to make better competition and make way for the new Perian? intels new 45nm C2D chips.. atm c2d uses 65nm chips when they get smaller they will produce less heat so they can clock higher. (I think they will use less power too).

so how much do u think a e6600 will cost by end of august and are the prices of gpus dropping too i havnt really noticed it but im planning to get a 8800 gts 320 mem by fox conn do u think that will drop also by end of august?

An E6600 should drop down to the price of a E6400 right now (which is around $220), and the E6700 will drop down to the current E6600 prices, and the Q6600 (or whatever the low-end quad core processor is called) will drop down to the current price of the E6700 (around $500). If you search TPU you should find a new pricing table somewhere :)
