They are most likely made in the same factory so it shouldnt be too much of a worry who makes them. the different names are probably just the names of distributors who sell to Newegg

As I saw from comment on newegg Chenming made them in 2006 and now Apevia start back with it. I guess they just rised the prize hoping to go on the flow of HTPC small form factor hardwares now. But seriously who still use Firewire ? I never had any mobo in my life with firewire and this case has one front plug.

I used to use firewire with a few external hard drives though this was years ago. I dont think the whole firewire craze caught on, a lot of machines came with firewire back in 06 and Apeva most likely didnt change the formula

Really miss those old Chenming cases. My father has two of them, an Antec Performance server tower and a mid tower Hypersonic branded case.

Chenming makes most computer cases sold under a variety of names. They used to make practically every PC case out there on newegg back in 2002 or so. Antec Performance Series, Chieftec, Enermax, Directron etc.

They probably still do but are more subtle about it, those classic Chenming cases all looked identical so it was pretty obvious Antec wasn't the OEM.

I use FireWire all the time, my video camera uses it to offload files to the computer.

Apevia you meant I guess ;)

Chenming has made a-lot of case for other companies or had other companies copied there cases. The whole Chenming / Cheiftec / Antec episode of this case come to mind.

That look like an Antec and if my memory is right it was a really tall one for that time and guys were putting a lot of HDD in it. Right ?

No way to tell, probably not an Antec because the way to tell was the Antec Outside sticker in the lower corner. [old school baby] :pimp:

After making research I can confirm many made it and some different things added. Lian-Li, Chenming, Chieftec Alienware and Antec. The Antec one had the model with full side panel or a windows side with a 80mm clear Antec fan at the bottom to cool down the graphic card in the full-size motherboard era.
