My G110 is 7 years old it's not grungy like you would think but needs a good deep clean, what's the safest way?
Also thinking of replacing it, i don't have a high budget for that so any pointers?

I normally use this 3m cleaner.

Hold it upside down while shaking it. Carry on shaking it until all the matter falls out.

Shake it out first then pop all the keys off and wipe them down with a delicate cleaner, use same cleaner on casing of keyboard, if you can use a small vaccum in crevices or a paint brush.

Thanks guys for cleaning advice.

Any keyboard suggestions? i will clean this out then and put in storage as a spare.

are you using the special software with the keyboard?

If You are- id suggest looking at Logitech for a Mechanical Keyboard or a Roccat Ryos Series.

Rosewil- they make good mechanical keyboards but im unsure if they have any special gaming software

if you want Fancier than the G110 or the Ryos series look at the RGB keyboards coming out

It States it has the Cherry Brown Switch which is found in my Ryos MK Pro plus my wife's Rosewill. I'd say go for it

it is missing a keypad though @Recon-UK, if that is good for you Go for it

Yeah it's a tenkeyless design. I found a video and i am happy with purchasing it.

Great then Glad You found what you are looking for

Take it apart and just clean it, although the thin plastic part that the domes make contact DO NOT wipe or clean it as there is a chance you could rub the print of it.

Good for his keyboard although not the greatest way to clean some thing, and NEVER do this with a mech keyboard.

I do some night time gaming and can attest to it being an advantage, though not a major issue as i mostly know where my keys are.

I turn the keyboards upside down and give them a stiff rap on the side. Then I blast them compressed air.

Note that not all key caps are designed to be removed once installed at the factory. I don't recommend that unless you know your keycaps are replaceable.

My last keyboard I pulled apart and washed in the kitchen sink with warm water and dishwashing liquid, then left it to dry before reassembling.
Edit, It was a membrane type, not mechanical.

I would carefully take it apart and clean it out with compressed air / some sort of light brush, IF this is doable with your keyboard. I had a old Saitek keyboard that stopped working on me, so I took it completely apart and cleaned it out and it is still working perfectly to this day, although it is retired at this point.

I think that would be more hazardous with a membrane keyboard because there are layers of materials in the pads that moisture may get stuck in. I am glad it worked.

A friend spilled his large cup of soda on his keyboard - a trusty old IBM mechanical. He put it in the dishwasher with about 1/10th the normal amount of soap (dishwasher soap is very harsh). He also set the DW to air dry (not use the heating element). As soon as the DW was done, he blasted the keyboard with compressed air, propped the keyboard on edge, and blasted a desk fan on it for a day. It worked like a champ after that.

It says "brown switches" without specifying which brand they are.

I thinks this board has kalih switches and not cherry mx.

Confirmed. Thermaltake eSports mechanical switches are Kailh.

Same TKL, just mine happened to be blue switches.

I've done the same thing to a mechanical keyboard, obviously disassembling it first, and thorough cleaning between the switches, I used some dishwasher soap on the key caps and chassis. Still works fine, cleaner than ever and smelled nice :D

Hah! about half hour ago I spilt some coffee on the ctrl-alt-shift-caps lock-tab left side of keyboard. after a few minutes, started acting really weird. affected whole keyboard. Shut comp down & used 'canned duster' tipped over to get 'liquid' to come out, & sprayed heavily. Fired up comp and all is well.

I was concerned, as this keyboard is 'BTC' brand made in Korea at least 20 years old. Yeah Yeah, I know, but I really really like this one's layout. Has the large plug with adapter to ps2 plug & ps2 to usb.

I just disassemble them and clean the plastics like I do with dishes. I do that with my mouse as well. Works really well.

My sister pried the keys loose and boiled them. They melted.
