When i see youtube comparisons of cpu's they all test i 1080, alot in 1440 and a some in 4k

What they all have in common is they use a high end gpu 3070 ti, 3080 or something like a rx 6800 xt and always 1080 or higher to get as big a difference as possible (atleast in 1080)

When testing, comparing something like a ryzen 5 5600x or i5 10600k most wouldn't pair it with a + 1000 euro gpu like above a rx 6700 xt and rtx 3070/3070 ti to avoid not getting enough fps and background tasks that could decrease performance from a 6 core cpu's when gaming, in youtube videos they do use high end gpu's for something like an intel i5's and ryzen 5 cpu's

That's almost like getting as much fps as a higher tier cpu with a lower tier gpu, could be a i9 10850k + a rx 6700 xt vs a i5 10400f + a rx 6800 both might even cost the same since price difference between a rx 6700 xt and rx 6800 is high

A rx 6700 xt and rtx 3070 should be fine for a ryzen 5600x or i5 10600k but what if you want to se videos, result of lower tier gpus like rx 6600, 6600 xt,rx 5700 xt, rtx 2070, 3060, 3060 ti, how the performance would be both in avarage fps, 1% low and 0.1% low with different cpu's ranging from a ryzen 5 5600x, i5 10400f up to 10-16 core cpu's, theres is more or less none

Most can afford a high end cpu but going to a much faster gpu (rx 6600 xt, rtx 3060 ti) in these days, would be very expensive if you wanted a rx 6800 xt or rtx 3080, used ryzen 9 3900x would cost me less than 300-350 euros in my country, you couldn't get a used rx 5600 xt for that and only 350 euros would get me an rtx 2060 (price when selling a used rx 6600 xt or a rtx 3060 + 350 euros will still not get you a high end gpu) even if i wanted to i might be able to find an i9 10850k/10900k for 350 euros, which is high end even when ryzen 5 or 12 gen would be faster, it's still high end.

So is there any comparison of low/mid tier gpu's with higher end cpu's ? Most of us can afford a high end cpu (i9 10850k/10900k,ryzen 9 3900) but not a high end gpu (rx 6800 xt,rtx 3070 ti,3080)

Relase date for ryzen 7 5800x 3d cache, all i can find is spring 2022, what would the price be ?

Not sure the point; if you want good FPS at high resolution/settings then you need a good GPU.

If you do not have a good GPU then you cannot get that even with your 12900K at 5 Ghz.

So the question quickly becomes whether it matters which CPU you buy for gaming, and the answer in truth is not really.

You can see here: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i3-12100f/18.html

at 4K then the bad CPUs like 9100F are not even relevantly worse than the 12900K costing $500.

Even at 1440p still not so big. That's a good indicator of CPU performance even at lower resolutions in case your system is GPU-bottlenecked

If you buy a $100 i3-10100 and spend $650 on a 6600 XT, then it will completely destroy a $500 i9-12900K with a $250 6500 XT.

Of course in normal circumstances then if you have a choice between a 3060 for $300 or a 3070 for $500, then even though the 3070 is only 35% faster but 67% more expensive, then that's still a far better upgrade for gaming than spending an extra $200 on your CPU (i9 vs i5, say), because the 3070 gives you directly 35% more fps, whereas the CPU upgrade only gives you 35% more speed on Prime95 or something irrelevant. It's almost like buying an expensive M.2 rather than a cheap one.... Like, yes, the CPU performs faster on synthetic benchmarks, but it's not going to be noticeable during gaming, whereas unfortunately you will absolutely notice that you can't play your game at your desired settings....

This was true and remains true even now that GPUs are inflated through the roof by cryptomining. The only question is ok, you might be happy to pay a bit more for a CPU because why not, but you don't want to pay $1000 for a GPU because it's ridiculous. Well in that case don't, and turn down your resolution/settings, but don't imagine the CPU will be a substitute.

Mabye a little ekstreme, $100 i3-10100 and spend $650 on a 6600 XT, then it will completely destroy a $500 i9-12900K with a $250 6500 XT.

Since a rx 6500 xt is alot slower than a rx 6600 xt,easily in some games 50fps, here it's only against a rx 6600 https://www.techpowerup.com/review/sapphire-radeon-rx-6500-xt-pulse/16.html

I would imagine it would be more true with rx 6800 with a higher tier cpu than a rx 6800 xt with a lower tier cpu or 6600 vs 6600 xt

here is the thing i have thought about. Her in this video it's a 5600x vs 3700x, as usually it's a high end gpu, a rtx 3080, i can't afford a rtx 3080 and don't want one since my monitors run a little better with a rx card, mabye an rx 6800 xt which is also very expensive.

In some games theres a few fps difference and in others a little more but it's with a rtx 3080
So what if it was a rtx 3060 or rx 6600 xt that doesn't require as much power as a rtx 3080 or rx 6800 xt to perform at it's best (max fps)?

Will the difference be the same between a low tier cpu and i higher tier cpu since both make the card(s) performe at it's best, the extra power one of the cpu's have is just a nice bonus (nice to have but not something most people need) or will there actually be a difference ?

I do own a ryzen 5 5600 (i can still return it) if i wanted to, i could get a used ryzen 9 3900x for about the same price, i don't know if theres any big difference, in the video theres alos a little favor of the ryzen 3700x in cyberpunk 2077 where a 5600x is used up to close ro 80% where the 3700x is used no more than 50%, + less power in games like cyberpunk 2077 and battlefield v, infact the 3700x use less wattage and is cooler than the 5600x in just about all games without a huge difference in fps

Rumours suggest zen4 could launch early, so zen3d might well be a really really short lived SKU.
