I build my Pc about a month and a half ago Ryzen 5 5500, Gtx 1660 super, asus prime b550-M-a(wifi), 2 8gb corsair vengeance, evga 600w 80 plus gold, wd 500gb ssd m.2. Not until a couple weeks i just kept randomly crashing in games like cod, rocket league, Fortnite etc after maybe like 5-30 minutes of playing or maybe just in the menu. finally today i checked the event viewer and seen Critical kernel-power event i’d 41(63). Now i’m pretty lost on what to do and upset on how much i spent on this build i need help asap. Even when i’m just in the background desktop it will just crash

I'm surprised nobody responded by now, any luck fixing your problem? That error happens when there's an unexpected shutdown.

Even when i’m just in the background desktop it will just crash
I would have suggested benchmarking CPU alone then GPU alone, then testing RAM, but not if you're crashing when on the desktop with no games or heavy workloads running.

Here are some things to try:
  1. Monitor voltages and temps with HWiNFO and look for things out of the ordinary, you can find ATX voltage spec online.
  2. Check for driver updates.
  3. Check "Add or remove programs" for software you installed shortly before crashes started happening.
  4. Run CPU/RAM/GPU at stock settings don't overclock, undervolt or use any PBO.
  5. Remove/unplug any devices that are not necessary.
  6. Verify your PSU is single rail. I think it is, but if it's not you'll want to split up the loads keeping your GPU on a rail(s) that's not shared with rest of system. This shouldn't be the problem if crashing while not running games or heavy workloads.
  7. Run memory test to check for errors.
  8. Reseat RAM.
  9. Run with a single stick of RAM at a time.
  10. Try lower RAM settings, turn off XMP just use JDEC speed and timings until RAM is ruled out.
  11. Underclock GPU (don't undervolt).
  12. Underclock CPU (don't undervolt).
  13. Reseat GPU and other PCIe devices.
  14. Try a known good PSU.
  15. Try a known good GPU.
  16. Reseat CPU.
  17. Update BIOS if update is available, but only if you think it's reliable enough to not lose power during update.
  18. Install security camera on breaker panel to catch pranksters flipping a breaker.
