Computer crashing randomly when playing games.

Hi everyone.

I built a computer 2 months ago, everything was running fine until a few weeks ago.

Motherboard : Aorus Elite B550M
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
GPU : AMD Radeon RX 6600
PSU : Corsair RM750 (2021) 750 Watts 80 Plus

When playing games, my computer randomly freezes, then restarts (no BSOD)

The error I get aside from Kernel-Power 41 is the WHEA-Logger 18 (Processor APIC ID : 3).

I looked a little bit on the internet and tried several things, but without any success (disabling c-state, bios is fully updated, ran OCCT stress test on PSU for 1 hour etc). Another find was someone on reddit explaining the APIC ID that I get in the whea-logger 18 error, basically saying that APIC #0 & #1 = core 0, #2 and #3 = core 1, etc. The error I get has the APIC ID 3, so I figured something was up with the core 1. With this new information, I ran another OCCT stress test targetting the core 1... And replicated the exact same crash I experience playing games in less than 2 minutes of stress test. So I guess the problem comes from the core 1 of the CPU.

I wanted to try and do a little test with this new information, went and launched the game again, changed Processor affinity and unticked the what I'm thinking is the faulty core.
Game ran fine for an hour or so, then another problem appeared : My computer didn't freeze then restart, it just froze. Couldn't move the mouse or access any other program.

There's also this other error that I have no idea what it is about : Failed SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for .... etc event 86 GetCaCaps.

I don't really know what else I can do. Nothing is overheating or anything. I just installed the Amd chipset drivers on the official website, Amd Ryzen Master for the cpu, and upgraded amd adrenalin to pro. I doubt it will change much but i'm running out of ideas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

which windows do you use?

I would suggest putting CO for that core to +10 or so, to see if a little more voltage helps.

Just wanted to say that had a similar issue with my old 2600 and somehow when in another motherboard it worked fine.

But my 5700X works fine on the same motherboard.
Curses. Sounds like CO +5 or +10 might work on the core that doesn't work properly.

I use windows 10. I did a fresh install when this problem started to arise but it didn't change anything.

Thanks for the answers.

I don't really know what CO is though, i'm a little new to this. I guess it's changing the voltage? How do I do this? I've searched a bit around the internet and saw that it could be done with Ryzen Master? Thanks again

Yes. CO is essentially easy voltage control - it takes the automatic voltage applied to the core and adds or subtracts voltage based on the offset.

Most people can run negative CO values, but it seems that you need to run positive on the core you are having instability with.

It adjusts up to +/- 30, so start with +5 or +10 and test with OCCT. Use two or three points above the minimum stable value - don't just set +30 and call it a day. This will add unnecessary heat.

And yes, you need Ryzen Master for this.
