Just a few seconds after logging into Windows XP my computer restarts. I'm trying to figure out (in a general sense) what this problem could be. Something to do with video card drivers maybe?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Is your pc overclocked or do you have heat problems?

Have you made any hardware changes recently?

My PC is an Athlon XP 2800+ (not overclocked)

Recently I upgraded to an ATI Radeon X800 GTO (agp). I have been using it the past 3 days with absolutely no trouble. All the sudden my PC went on the fritz today.

Can you boot into safe mode? If you can it is probably drivers/ software.

Hi PencilWarrior, did you manage to fix your problem?

I have a similar problem but have tracked it down to a problem with my CPU's L2 cache.
The reason I am posting is that I also have an Athlon XP 2800 and an ATI x800 gfx card like you do.

Please reply either way,

Thanks,
Dan.

i have had that problem before, upgraded from a geforce 4400 to a 6800gt, it would get to the welcome screen and then reboot, it was the power supply, put in a new one and the problem was gone.
