I've heard of 'cloud gaming'. Is it possible for one machine to tap another's GPU, and possibly processor, via cloud gaming? And how would I go about that? If that's not correct, can someone explain to me how it DOES work?
Here's the scenario. I have a chronic throat disorder and cough that I've found my 5900X / RTX3060ti rig (double-duty as a gaming rig and Plex media server) is aggravating due to hypersensitivity to heat. It happens that using either my 1700 / GTX1650S rig or 3600X / GTX1650 OC rig has dropped the temps considerably, making me a bit more comfortable. While I don't want to get rid of the 5900X, I do need to explore options for relocating it. I seriously doubt an AIO is going to solve this problem.
However, it also happens that the relative I live with likes heat, and has been using a magnifying glass to read a 15" laptop when they have a perfectly good 70" TV right in front of them. So if I could set the 5900X up so that they can use it in the living room for their normal everyday use (browsing, email, Amazon, banking), while still allowing me to use it to game via a cloud setup, that might be ideal if it's doable. I assume setting up some sort of LAN would be required.
People say the 5900X is overkill for gaming, but the 3600X comes up a bit short even with the 3060ti. Reason being, I like to spawn about 25-30 vehicles in BeamNG.drive to chase me for a demo derby free-for-all. I also rather enjoy American Truck Simulator on high / ultra detail at 4K. But would cloud gaming give the same performance through another machine? From what I understand, the 'cloud server' does all the work and the outboard machines reap the benefits of a performance boost.
I'm just wondering whether the 1700's extra 2 cores would make up the difference between the 5900X and 3600X directly, or if I'd be better off with a cloud setup.
The 5900X (PBO2) is on an Asus Tuf B550-PLUS with a Scythe Mugen 5. It has a WD SN570 M.2 and 32GB of Patriot Viper Blackout DDR4-3200. Corsair RM850x.
The 3600X (PBO) is on an ASRock B450M-HDV with a Scythe Mugen 5S. It has a WD SN570 M.2 and 32GB of Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3600. Corsair CX650F.
The 1700 (no OC) is on an MSI B450M Bazooka with a stock AMD cooler. It has a WD SN550 M.2 and 32GB of HyperX Fury DDR4-2133. Channel Well 500S-GPT.
Notes: GPUs are Asus KO-RTX3060ti-8GB-OC, Asus Tuf Gaming GTX1650-4GB-OC, and Asus Phoenix GTX1650-OC. The Phoenix is slot-powered.
Assuming this is possible, how could I best do this on a tight budget without sacrificing performance? And what is needed?
