Hi everyone this is my first post so be nice hehe :P. I guess u could say im a noob at oc'ing a processor. I just built a new computer for my a plus class and would like to oc my processor to maybe 2.8 or 3.2 if im lucky. I have a stock fan on it. I have the award bios too. Ok so i have 2 options in my bios the multiplier and the clock right now it is at 9x and 266mhz which puts me at the default 2.4 for the e6600. Now to oc it to 2.8 i just make it 7x and 400mhz right?. So once ive done that how do i raise the rpm of the stock fan so i can keep it cool. Also, at what temp should i begin to worry and go back to default? Basically, i just need someone to help me go through the steps of overclocking a core 2 duo. Thanks in advance-Ross

to raise the fan spped there should be something in the bios called pc health, look in there and see if you see smart fan control or pwm fan control and disable it

k

Im at school right now but ill check that out when i get home. Will that force the fan to run at max speed. Doesnt smart fan make the fan run faster or slower depending on temp? Is there any reason to NOT make the fan run at 100%.(other than the uber noise it gives off) :D Thanks again for yur advice
