Hello my full system specs are listed to the left and I want to ask why I'm barely pulling 250fps in COD4 and only 30-40 fps in WoW and low FPS in other games?

WoW is maxxed and it gets bugger all FPS flying around and is really unbearable to play when it should easily be able to play the game.

COD4 should be pulling 400FPS+ (I limit it to 250 for bouncing and promod, but I tested it in vanilla for maximum FPS) and Im barely getting to 250 when it should be able to pull heaps more than that.

Can someone explain the method to force turbo mode on? As I do not have the 2600k

Edit:
Heres the temps:

CPU: 20-30c on all cores Maximum of 50c underload

GPU: 35-45 IDLE. 50-70 under load. One time the fans weren't speeding up to cool down and I hit 90c. (f***ing CCC, such a retarded system)

2nd edit: Im hoping to trade up to a 2600k for OCing to around 4.5-5.0

Something is definately wrong. I ran furmark just a few minutes ago and it only got 15 FPS. When I ran when I first got my system it easily pulled 50 FPS. Same settings.

Crossfire Profiles?

And does it really matter if you can't get 400fps in a game? Anything over 100 is just stupid.

incorrect, in COD4 you need 250 fps... not 60 or 100..... 125fps works but not as well as 250 or 333. its just the way the engine is designed.

i would suspect drivers first.... completely uninstall them and reinstall..... maybe try a couple different versions.

I'm pretty sure the OP isn't worrying about 'low' fps but more about having something wrong.

An i7 shouldn't be bottlenecking your card, I'm sure the problem lies elsewhere. Try another driver perhaps?

This is the first I've ever heard of this. Do you have any sources for such a claim because it seems unusual that there would be any benefit to having such absurdly high frame rates.

As for the initial problem I would say get the newest Preview Drivers from AMD (cannot remember the driver version right now) since they offer great performance increases. Also, make sure you have WoW setup to run DX11 since that generally results in a 25%+ fps gain for any card capable of DX11.

In COD4 is better to cap your FPS @ 125, 250 or 333 for doing legit glitches and being able to move faster.

Youtube COD4 bouncing and see what I mean.

EDIT: I'll try a driver update!

I'll try DX11 for WoW ty

I found the issue. I left my crossfire connector off.

/facepalm.

Went from 70 FPS in WoW on average to 180 FPS average. Isn't that amazing?
