Hey guys I'm looking to buy a new cooler for my CPU but I've come into a problem. I have an Asus Z87-A motherboard and the ram slots are really close to the CPU socket. Also I have Corsair Vengeance ram so they have those big heat fins. I'm just not sure on what cooler to get because I don't know if the ram will be in the way:confused::confused:. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this kind of problem or knows how i can measure my board to see if a cooler will fit. I also have an i5 4670k.

cpu area space is standard, so if you want to use after market cooler i suggest single tower and if the ram block the fan you could put your ram on other slot or move your fan from in front of heatsink to back or heatsink
or you could try liquid cooler

Like the Cooler Master Seidon 120V for example.
The other thing you could do is get a relatively slim tower cooler (i.e.EKL Alpenföhn Sella or Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo) and just turn the fan around and put on the side facing the top vent fan so it doesn't interfere with your ram. It will then be drawing the air through your vent rather than pushing it through so you might want to upgrade your case fans to ensure maximum flow through.
Just a thought.
However, the price of the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is 30 bucks around here and the Cooler Master Seidon 120V cost 45 so I'd opt for the the latter and pick up the bonus points for having slick cooling.

Personally I would use an all in one water cooler such as the Corsair H60/H80i/H100i. Then you will have no clearance issues in regards to your ram.
