What's up guys, posting yet again looking for some advice. I'm in need of a new CPU Cooler as my AIO I think is starting to die as it's becoming more audible and its gurgling. At this point I've used water for years but I think now I'm better off going large Tower. I'm running a 5800X currently with a ID Cooling Aura360 which I'm looking to change. What cooler would you guys recommend ?

4+ heatpipes, beyond that pick something pretty. Most stuff performs within a few C of each other outside of an overclock at this point.

EDIT: Ok, I'll try to be a little more helpful. bequiet! loses a tiny edge in effectiveness to its competitors, but their coolers' sound profiles are pretty good, even at full tilt. ID Cooling's killing it in p/p, but I wasn't impressed with the build quality on my 224. Deepcool seems like the go-to for price-vs-performance-vs-quality. I'd say AS-500.

There's a pretty good deal on the Thermalright Frost Commander 140 at Amazon right now. $61.49 - 20% by clicking the coupon box = $49.19. Noticed your current cooler was white. They have white, black, or silver for the same price.

NHD15S works well for me.

Frost Commander 140 is one of the very best coolers on the market. It's low price makes it the very best high end cooler on the market.
Your case supports up to 160mm tall coolers. Frost Commander 140 is 158mm tall so will fit.
I think your Team Group RAM is 32mm tall so FC140 120mm front fan will fit over RAM.

Good to see doyll from OCN, this guy is an aircool expert.

Buy slower fans, 5800X is too cold for AIO to begin with.

Noctua lasts practically forever. If a new socket is released, they'll give the mounting hardware for free if you have the receipt.

They are expensive, but it hits your wallet only once.

I would pass on Noctua and go with FC140.

Those 8mm pipes do things other coolers cannot :)

I am using PA120 now, and honestly... it's a pretty damn good cooler!

I have a 5800X. Currently on an Alphacool custom loop but I've had that chip under an NH-U12 and AK620, both were fine - the NH-U12 got hot but never thermal-throttled.

The Deepcool AK620 is a seriously impressive cooler for the money, from what I can tell it's very similar to the AP120. If that's significantly cheaper then go with that.

I also use ID-Cooling SE-226-XT on 5900X all the time. The 5900X is easier to cool though since its power budget matches the 5800X but it spreads that TDP across two dies instead of one.

Man the cooler you stated is only $38 right now
What freeagent said. :peace:

Just make sure the $38 one has the mounts for your application.
For example
PA 120 SE $35.90, PA 120 SE ARGB $39.90 and PA 120 SE ARGB White $41.90 have AMD AM4 & AM5 / Intel 1700 / 1150 / 1151 / 1200 mounts.
PA 120 $41.30 and PA 120 White $46.36 and PA 120 White ARGB have AMD AM4 & AM5 / Intel 1150 / 1200 / 2066 mount
Tops tell the difference:
PA 120 SE $35.90, PA 120 SE ARGB $39.90 and PA 120 SE ARGB White $41.90 have ends of heatpipes sticking up on top.
PA 120 $41.30 and PA 120 White $46.36 and PA 120 White ARGB have solid top / no heatpipes showing.

While AK620 is decent cooler, but AK620 is about $55-70 while PA 120s' are $39.90-55. Both are close to same size but PA120 also has offset base so only 55mm from center CPU to edge of fins toward PCIe socket .. AK620 fins are 60mm on PCIe side.

I have SE-226 too. Very impressed with how it preforms! 6x 6mm heatpipes in 129x78x154mm w/o fan 129x106x153mm w/ fan (WxDxH) priced about $40-45.

Thermalright BA120 is another 6x 6mm heatpipes in 124x52x154mm (LxWxH) single tower cooler for Intel:115X/1200/1700/17XX AMD:AM4 applications priced at $34.90.
