Okay so i was playing valorant and had HWmonitor opened up in the background to see my maximum cpu temperatures and so on, I had played enough for the day and was about to shut my laptop down just when i checked HWmonitor it showed core #0 clocked maximum at about 8 GHz?

I use a laptop (Lenevo ideapad L340) It contains 16GB 2400MHz Ram, i7-9750HF 2,59 GHz base clock 4.5 GHz max turbo clock CPU, and as a GPU it has a GTX1650 (mobile)

I have attached some pictures for extra information anyone might want.

If someone could explain how this happens it would be really nice.
(sorry for any mistakes this is my first post, i have been doing some research about my cpu and my laptop and ive seen this site often so i decided i would create a account and make a post)

this is not real. (probably a readout bug related to the enabled virtualization)

Yeah, totally a bug. I'd use HWInfo64 as well instead of HWMonitor.

The massive amount of information HWInfo64 provides can easily be overwhelming but I agree and use it instead HWMonitor too (though I have both on my system). I am not saying HWMonitor is at fault. It could be a sensor issue (they are cheap, low tech devices). Or just a temporary, hopefully one-time glitch/gremlin.

That said, are you using the latest version of HWMonitor? You should be at V1.53.0.

I just minimize those I don't need to monitor (at least on that moment).

Hardware monitoring utilities don't work correctly if you have HVCI/core isolation enabled. AIDA64 and HWiNFO64 both have issues with it as well.

It's just a quick readout anomaly don't worry about it.

Me too. And typically, when I recommend HWiNFO64 to new users, I recommend they select that "Sensors only" button when starting it.
