CPU fan slows down and is fixed by flicking

Sometimes when I turn on my computer, when look at AbitEQ (like motherboard monitor) it shows my CPU fan is running at 3200 RPM's, it is supposed to be 4000. So i open my case and flick the fan (not hard) and wha la! It makes a little whirring noise and then goes to 4000 RPM.

You should change that fan ASAP as it may be starting to wear out, and you don't want your proc to burst in flames if that fan fails

I just bought it, and i have never had a problem before.
I have a generic brand 350 watt power supply though, could that be the culprit?
And my computer is set to turn off if the CPU fan fails.

i would say the fan is bad.. connect another fan and see if the same is happening .. if not its the fan, either get a replacement fan or mobo

Now ive noticed that sometimes my northbridge fan speeds up beyond how fast it usually goes, could the problem be my power supply? Its a generic brand, came with the case 350 watt, 1 years old.

I don't think that the PSU is the culprit, those small & cheap NB-fans often die quite fast and the on on your cpu could also be "bad". try to replace it

My monitor is not showing the same speeds as my BIOS, i think i need to flash my BIOS because there are 3 revisions above what i currently have :cool:
