CPU goes crazy when i put a usb pen on pc

I've just build a pc. I changed the mobo, cpu, and rams. The rest was from the old parts.
I've also got a watercooling (my first time with water cooling)
First time a turned the Pc on , was with the all the system i was using before (same windows), i've just installed the mobo drivers an cpu drivers. Also before everything i've flashback the asrock bios to 3.01 version.
Now I formatted the PC and I have a new system with Windows 11, I installed all the drivers but the problem persists
What is happening is when i connect a USB pen, sd card or external disck the temperature of the cpu goes to 80º, after i take the usb it goes back to normal.
I'm seeing the cpu temperature on the Cooler master software of the watercooling.

My pc:
B650 Pg Lightning
Ryzen 5 9600x
32GB Vengeance
Rx 7800xt
Cooler Master ML240

What could be causing this?
Can i use a more recent version of the BIOS ?

Check which software is causing high CPU usage with Task Manager and let's work from there.

Did you install AMD Chipset drivers too?

Maybe you need a BIOS update. ASRock has had quite a few fumbles with AM5 lately.

If this is happening from connecting the USB drive or SD card or external disc from your case ports then maybe check all the connections are seated properly in the motherboard? Maybe the cables are sending too high of a current which is causing the read to go insane?
Have you tried connecting them to the motherboard directly to see if its the same?

Worth checking what software is causing the high cpu usage as mentioned.
Another sanity check is checking if your AIO is seated correctly and you have removed any film covering the heatsink itself.

Do all ports behave like that?

I would first try those usb ports of the io shield of the mainboard itself. NOT the Case USB ports!

I think there are plenty of topics on how to stable check a new fresh build windows computer. how to configure the hardware, fans = includes 4 pin pwm signal, and such.

No process on the task Manager is giving much usage to cpu. The Cpu is at 20% load. But temperature ate 78º. This only happens when i connect usb. When gaming its maximum 60º degrees.
yes i've installed AMD Chispet drivers

It's that included on AMD Chipset drivers? Whats the name? I installed everything that it was on the Asrock mobo website

So theres no task loading to much the CPU. The CPU is at 20% usage when this happens with the usb connected.
Every usb ports does this.
What you saying with connect directy to the mobo ?
The AIO is correctly mount. I've done it twice now.

yes all ports do the same.
What you mean with stable check ?

What if you boot into Safe Mode?
have to try that

What i'm asking is does this happen when those USB devices are connected to the case USB port or from the motherboard.
I'm assuming there are no issues with all your peripherals connected to your motherboard USB, hence why i'm asking if connecting those specific peripherals is triggering the same behaviour.
If its not happening when you connect to your motherboard then there could be something wrong with the ports on your case or the IO cable from the case to your motherboard.
yes all ports do the same.
If its happening even on the motherboard then it could be OS or driver issue or it could even be a issue with the motherboard itself.

Maybe try having your temp open, unplug all your USB devices and then one by one plug those devices that is causing the random temp spikes.

Use the USB ports on the back of your PC/MOBO and not the ones on the case.

Connecting directly to the motherboard means that you connect your usb device to the back of your case (I/O shield), not the usb ports found on the front of the case.

Look at the details tab. And performance. There is something causing those spikes, unless it's just faulty readings.

So in the Ryzen Master the voltage goes from 0,8 to 1,3 when i connect the USB . I have updated the Mobo and now it continues with the same problem but now the temperatures only goes to 68º

the problem is on every Usb port on the pc

What if you boot into Safe Mode?
IT WORKED FINE on Safe mode! Thank you! Now, what that means?

Can you tell us what software you got installed?
This sounds like software conflict either that some drivers are overlapping

What you mean with stable check ?

I'm out on the microsoft topic.

Personally I would verify if everything was build properly with ESD plug and esd wire cable and esd wrist strap.
Check if everything was properly assembled. Check if the compiler crashes with stock 4800MT/s DRAM setting. than i applied xmp profile and tried again.

My Ryzen 7600X / x670 was for over 12 hours in windows 11 pro stable. That "windows stable" quite soon crashed in less than 15 minutes with the gnu toolchain + linux kernel while building programs from source code. I had that sevearl times. I also saw that with AM4 in w10 pro. Just because windows runs games fine or is in the desktop for hours does not mean the box is stable. there is a lot of room for wrong settings in the uefi.

IT WORKED FINE on Safe mode! Thank you! Now, what that means?

Can you tell us what software you got installed?

Maybe worth making screenshots of taskmgr.exe of all those services which are running / processes which are running in the "good" safe mode and the bad "usual mode"

Is this really a clean windows installation? Is there any RGB software installed? Mainboard software installed like the asus malware for asus mainboard which is called asus armory crate (msi also ha such things). Is there any other Mouse or keyboard software installled, like those Razer has, maybe it was called razer synapse?

I assume it's software related:
appwiz.cpl -> screenshot -> uninstall any crap which was installed. try to install one piece after another with a reboot in between. than check for those usb issues.

It could be also w11 related. Did you check yourself if there any related issues wiht usb? w10 pro and w11 pro had for ages heavy usb issues for years.

20% means nothing, what is using 20%? Is it the AV scanner perhaps? 20% CPU load to me is 22 cores at 100% load because I have 112 of them. What is actually using the CPU cycles?

IT WORKED FINE on Safe mode! Thank you! Now, what that means?
It means it is working fine with Windows basic default drivers. That suggests one of your installed drivers for one of your devices or the motherboard's hubs is at fault. It could be corrupt or has a bug and does not comply with industry standards.

The problem is solved! For the 2 time a instaled Windows it solved the problem. I don't know if it was because the first time a choosed the Windows 11 home , and now i've instaled the pro version . After setting all AMD drivers, se cpu is até 42° in idle. After cinebench it went to 60°. I wanna say thank to everybody for the informations!! Im still a bit noob on this , but you guys helped me to have hope on solving this!

We still didn’t know what caused the issue, sure a windows reinstall solved the problems normally I would do that if I was in a hurry. Peeps here would like to know where was the issue so we can learn more about it. Hey it’s fixed now game on :)

No, that should have nothing to do with it.

Yes, but that's one of the problems with reinstalling the OS to resolve issues - there is no way of telling or knowing after the fact what was wrong or what exactly corrected it. That means there's know way to know what action (or inaction) the user needs to take (or not) to prevent it from occurring again. :(That is why, IMO, it should always be a last-ditch option.

My "guess" is an incorrect, corrupt, buggy, or otherwise outdated driver was overwritten with a new and good driver during the second install.

In any case, I am glad you got it sorted out and thanks for the followup.

sorry if i couldnt find at was causing the erro. I'm a bit noob on complex pc things. I update the bios so i thought that i should reinstal windows after that. And when i did everything got back to normal. This is hould the cpu is working now.

Did you nuke it and started all over deleting old partitions and formatting the the whole drive, or you installed new windows over the old one? Windows.old folder will be created if you did the later. I would say you nuked it.
