i have an asus P6T mobo with the i7 920 cpu and ive turned off intel speedstep and c1e support in the bios but when i start up Core Temp 0.99.6 it shows the multiplier has gone down to 12 or 13x even when im in game but CPU-Z shows mutiplier at x 20 all the time so which is right ?
i have windows 7 64bit pro
so is core temp just not reading it right ?

Core Temp bug.

did you install any software that monitors or OCs the motherboard? sometimes they have speedstep stuff that does it via windows.

so u think it is just a core temp bug ?

I'm quite sure it is a core temp bug.

If you want to test further download another temp/cpu speed program like HwInfo which is quite simple to use, check what you get and compare with cpu-z and with coretemp.

yes its a known coretemp bug, real temp and cpu-z do not show the change
