Hello all, i was thinking of buying a new processor preferrably c2d, or quad core. I have my eyes set on either the e6600 or q6600. Any suggestions? Thanks for looking.

+1 on that if you got the cash. Thats a whole lot cheaper than you will probably get on that for a while. If you don't want to spring for the quad yet, get a 6750 as long as you have a board that can support high fsbs.

are you going to oc? instead of the e6600, look at the new e8400. q6600 is also a good choice. i have it. you could easily oc it to 3.0ghz with air cooling. too bad that q6700 deal ended the minute they put it up. but yeah. look between the e8400 and q6600. make sure the q6600 is G0 SLACR. clubit guarantee's it. G0 SLACR's runs less power which results in less heat. So if your planning to oc, you would be able to oc it further than you would if you didnt have G0 SLACR.
