hi,

I have a very old system with a P6T SE motherboard and a intel i7-920, im looking to upgrade my cpu as i already did it with my gpu, ram and ssd.
What options do i have in this day and age that are compatible with this motherboard and available on the market?

The only thing faster than what you already have are the six core variants like 980X but it's really not worth it at all. Save your money to buy something else more modern.

The i7 980 is about $30 on ebay, that gives you two more cores and higher clocks and is on the CPU support list for the board. I don't know if that board will boot with Xeons or not, but you can try to find someone reporting success. The 980X or 990X also exist, but they cost way too much for what they are.

outside that gen of intel 0. best you can do is i7 990x. As a person that had i7 860 i think it sucked that those sockets were 1 gen cpu as they added built in gpu in the 2nd gen sandy's.

As for SSD, what ever is SATA based pretty much is what you got as an option.

max ram is 24gb so 6x 4gb sticks.

Sorry to say it, but you'd be better off buying an entirely new (used) system that's not as dated.
