humm I'm just wondering how the Vista drivers were doing with the Creative cards.. looking at buying a "Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-FI Xtremegamer" just $99 after rebate atm!.. But I remember them haveing some issues that might not get sorted out without rebuilding thier line of cards for Vista.:banghead:

Hope you guys can help clear this up! THANKS!:rockout:

I dont know about vista... I know that the 8800 was having some problems with it in the beggining

I got the X-fi XtremeMusic, and it works w/ vista! The drivers are there for it, but the interface isn't anything like the xp version. In XP you have alot more detailed options, but in Vista it's just plain. Another thing is you have to download the ALchemy software so you can use EAX and junk in games. I haven't tested out ALchemy, but go for the X-fi! After you use it once, you'll never want to go back to integrated sound again!

cool thannks Im still trying to study a bit on it.. but I dont have much time just checing out fourm posts on Nicx.com xD

though it dont say weather or not THX is activated/useable with vista. I'll be getting it mainly for that.. my game sound sounds good enough to me (COH.. though it could get better I kno.. its not maxed @ max it laggs me!)).

but yeah I use my comp as an entertainment center too to watch movies/tv series so I want THX to work too.

its almost sold out.. I dont care if I get this sale though, the regular xi-fi gamer goes on sale alot their too and it would suit me just as good... though this is no deal to pass up! as I order a new back-up drive with it.

vista is designed around open al audio as there is no support for direct sound anymore coincidently the xfi is also designed around open al audio and most games that have came out in the last year or two support open al so really theres no reason not to

i had 0 problems with mine on vista

they make muzik sound better too eh!? noob question I know but I like makeing sure of everything lol. Imma put this order in and spend some dough.:rockout:
