Crysis, one upcoming DirectX 10 title developed by Crytek as the first game to use their CryENGINE 2 is highly anticipated. But many gamers bemoan the fact that DirectX 10 requires spending at least $100US for a new graphics card and another $100+US for Microsoft's newest operating system, Windows Vista. And possibly more RAM since 2 gigabytes is recommended for gaming within Vista - the desirable upgrades practically form a new computer.

A streaming low-quality video of Crysis utilizing DirectX 9. High quality version is available too.

It's evident frugal gamers don't have to worry about relinquishing a couple hundred dollars to have a satisfying experience running around with a gun in a visually stunning environment for upcoming CryENGINE 2 powered games.

Crysis is vaguely slated for a "Quarter 3, 2007" release.

reminds me of farcry :)

looks really fast paced when running . hard to hit unless u have great aim.

That's part of the gameplay I think. You can choose to upgrade one of five stats: speed- strength- health-type upgrades. The person in the video was using the speed upgrade I think.

Looks good indeed. Looks like there was a speed upgrade in use, but the little guys seemed to jump real high.

Fixed!

I do hope this games comes with a decent anti cheating program.

So the high-def video was taken on a DX9 machine too? Cause it doesn't say so in the thread linked in the news.

They're the same video, the quality is only different. So yea the high-def video is the DX9 demonstration too.

I love the motion blur effect. :)
Games really become more realistic.

is that motion blur i see?

i think i just creamed myself....

wow that's dx9 ?? very nice. cant wait to play it in dx 10 :rockout:

OK, when is this game actually out? All I hear is Crysis this and Crysis that, but where's the damn game? Last I remember it was meant to be out in April and be DX10 only, but I guess things change.

Meh. Looks boring as hell. If I want to run around randomly killing people I'll do it in a game thats way more fun to do it in, like UT04. If I wanted nice graphics then I would play GRAW, which, interestingly when you look at it, the graphics in that trailer dont look any better than the graphics in GRAW once you have them maxed and AA+AF on.
