D975XBX Memory Question

Hey,

I have an Intel D975XBX. Intel says it only supports up to PC2-5300, but I currently am using Corsair 2GB XMS2 PC2-6400 800MHz 5-5-5 ram. This seems to work fine, but I want to upgrade to 4GB memory. Can I mix and match this with other timings? A friend of mine claims the 975XBX can take 1066MHz memory even though it claims it can only take 667 (obviously not true, since I already run 800). Can I run 2GB PC2-6400 with 2 GB PC2-8000, or must they be the same? Do the timings have to match or can I run 5-5-5 with 4-4-4-? Sorry for all the newbie questions, but I've never upgraded or installed memory before.

Thanks for anyone's help and advice.

Brad

If there all matched sticks, say corsair 2 x 1gb and mushkin 2 x 1gb they should work fine and run in dual channel! i would try to get the same speed though, i don't think it matters if it's 5-5-5 and 4-4-4.

Somebody correct me if i am wrong!!
