so my ram is keeping my oc back i put 1 stick of 512 in and i got it to 3.....woot so i need to upgrade only problem is performance 667 is dumb so i want some 800 i saw some nice ones on newegg only prob im not sure if ddr2 is like ddr1 in the respect were even though my board only supports 667(and slower) will it accept pc800?

well, I'm not quite sure what you're asking but if it's whether your motherboard will support DDR2 800 I would say most likely depending on BIOS updates, it's most likely going to downclock the 800s to 667 til you overclock them manually

Generally memory is backwards compatible. You can put in DDR2 800, but your board will run it at the max speed it supports. You will then have to OC it manually.

sweet just like ddr1 then awsome thats what i wanted thnx guys

you got it ;) the cool thing is, yeah you're sort of limited by your mobo initially, but you can buy faster rated memory and know for dang sure it's guaranteed to overclock :) such as in your case from 667 to 800 and probably beyond depending on the ram you get!
