Can anyone tell me, a relative newbie, why my Crucial Ballistix DDR400 ram has changed from DDR400 on the Post Screen to DDR333, the motherboard is an ABit AN8 Fatal1ty SLi with AMD 3500+, it did read DDR400 but has changed and does this have an impact on performance and can I change it to read DDR400

Tnx for help

It can have an impact on performance.

If you install 4 sticks of RAM this is typical behaviour for the board.

My best guess is you are running a memory divider, if you go into the BIOS there should be something that refers to dividers or memory frequency, try to set this back to DDR400.

If the options range from 100MHz up then you want to pick 200, if they start at 200 then pick 400, if it's shown as a divider you want 1:1.
