Question I have 2 16gb ddr5 6000mhz memory installed in slots a2 and b2 without xmp enabled I have 4800mhz and 32 gb of ram in task manager and 2 of 4 slots used when I enable xmp I have 6000mhz speed but my memory goes down to 16 gb and it says 1 of 4 slots used both slots in bios show they are occupied by the memory sticks is this normal or is something wrong

That's strange. Since you're already on the latest BIOS, my only guess is that the CPU's memory controller can't handle that much OC. What if you dial back the memory clock just a notch?

Did you read your motherboard manual to ensure what slots the ram are supposed to be in when only 2 dimms are used?

It seems you didn't check the motherboard manufacturer memory QVL...
I never had memory issues because I always buy memory that's listed(tested) in the motherboard memory QVL.

Unless you have a faulty stick...

Use CPU-Z to check which slot is working when you have 6000 XMP profile enabled.

A2 or B2?

Then try switching the Dimms position / Swap them and retest.

This could tell you if one of the dimms maybe faulty or unable to do XMP @ 1.35V.

Both dimms do xmp at 6000 mhz with one ram stick installed with both ram sticks as well my ram is on the motherboard manufacture list and rated for more than 6000mhz

Maybe the cpu being rated for less mhz it says i913900k is rated for 5600 mhz

6000mb/s is absolutely no problem for raptor lake. with that board you should be able to just plug and play a 7000-7200 kit.
and if it's unstable it will not just throw out a dimm.
either there is a contact problem or something else that's either hardware related or a bios bug.
did you reseated both CPU and RAM? reflashed the bios and a cmos reset?

I have reseated ram reflashed bios and cmos reset, I have not reseated cpu however the other motherboard I had has a missing pin on cpu socket returned it and this one has been fine was very careful installing cpu to socket

The cpu I have says it’s rated for 5600mhz put it down to that in bios and same result
