So I narrowed it down to 3 monitors I was choosing from. Reason being, I am just trying to get rid of 2 monitors and just go for 1 large one.

One is the Massdrop Vast - https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-vast-curved-gaming-monitor

Two is the AOC - http://www.microcenter.com/product/483264/AGON_AG322QCX_315_LED_Mon

Three is the LG 34 Inch - https://www.amazon.com/LG-34UM69G-B...D=41oZL18LZpL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail

I can't decide and I wanna be able to use it for Maya and some rendering programs as well as for gaming...I know the mass drop monitor is a little higher but I was willing to hold out a tad longer before the drop ends. I currently have a Benq XL2411Z I love it, but I don't think it's large enough. The referesh rate is kind of a big thing to me so if there IS something better than these 3 I would like to see it! Anyways, hoping for something that going to give me a great picture and I have no clue what I am looking at but obviously these are in my price range (about 500 lower is always better!) suggestions?

Then you should be looking for 2560x1440 as minimum and scratch that LG.
More vertical resolution over medieval 1080 is big help for power use.
And even reading forums, because of showing more content without scrolling.;)

The massdrop & AOC are curved. It bothered me and if your working in maya rendering its something you might want to consider going into a store to check out first.

The LG is 2560x1080 but only 75hz. It will be a step down from your Benq as far as refresh rates go but it is IPS and comes pre-calibrated. Most newer LGs come pre-cal with a spec sheet.

I would consider this one instead

Acer XF270HU 27 for $399
Its a 1440p 144hz AHVA panel.

I agree with Xzibit, Don't like curved, don't like 1080p ultawide. The Acer in the looks decent for use with AMD GPU (Freesync), and the price is right.

Awesome suggestion, I am trying to eliminate the need for 2 monitors(at least until I can get my hands on a cintique)do you think 27 would be enough? I didn't mind the curved screen too much but it's not a feature that I'm not willing to give up..I don't mind if there is just an overall better alternative

Cant really say. It will depend what your doing and if it can fit. 21:9 are a good alternative but you will be giving up refresh rate for it. Most 21:9s 1080p are 75hz IPS and 1440p are 75hz IPS / 100hz AHVA right now. 1440p will start around $600 unless there on sale. Don't go curve on 21:9s if you value straightness

Taking a look at forums it seems that 24 - 27 is the sweetspot for gaming and creativity. Seems like the one you suggested might be the best way to go. Are there any others I should look at?

They are a few Brands who use the same AHVA panel and spec just slight difference in looks and implementations.
Asus same AHVA panel and specs. ASUS MG279Q $499. Up to you if you feel it warrants the price difference.

Price & frame rate wise no.

No I don't think 27 inch 1440p will be able to replace the feeling and use of two separate monitors side by side. However it is a great res for today in terms of performance/GPU requirement and 27 inch/1440 is quite a lot of real estate at a comfortable PPI (similar PPI to 1080p/24in).

In that vein, if you want to really go big, have you considered still sticking with the dual monitor and putting two 25 inch 1440p's side by side? The PPI improvement is quite nice, you get that retina feeling without having to squint to discern detail, and you can get panels with very small bezels such as this one - in terms of real estate, this is glorious.

The problem with the LG is 1080 vertical and the 34 inch still doesn't make it particularly large - 21:9 means the diagonal is not comparable to 16:9. Its going to be a pain in the ass with that much horizontal. 3440x1440 is by comparison a far better option - also 21:9, but now you do get the sense that you actually 'moved up' instead of just removing a bezel for a good amount of money.

I don't know much about the brand Pixio. Its also a TN panel same as your current Benq. TN is great for fast responce but not so visual pleasing compared to VA & IPS.

This probably has the same TN panel for slightly less
Acer KG271U $299

Looking at their products they use the same AHVA panel the Acer & Asus I linked in this model PX277

Dont bother with AOC, notice many of them fail in 1-5 years.

Do you have source for this? Im curious as to what happens to them

Personal experience. They quit working unexpectantly, no troubles from other brands such as NEC, Dell. Notice Viewsonics do the same.
By the way check your envelope icon, i sent you a pm in regard to another question
