DEcrease of 3DMark results with higher clocks after time??

I've gradually increased core/mem speed of my PowerColor X1800XT512 with ATI Tool and saved as profiles OC1, OC2, OC3 etc. Ran 3DMark05 after each profiled OC and saved the result. Went back to ATI Tool, increased core/mem speed, saved as OC2 etc. etc.

After a few hours I had 5 different OC profiles, each with significant better results. After a few hours playing/testing CoD2 in DX9 mode :rockout: I decided to run OC5 again and guess what: I lost 172 points! ran OC4 again and lost another 120 points in 3DMark05 :banghead:

I know every CPU loses performance over time if OCed, but this fast! Could anyone verify this at home i.e. doing the same benchmark w/the same OC and compare the before vs after results and let us know please? Thanks.

i sometime get lower results in a 2005 run than i should get for no apparent reason.. quite big drops over thousand point.. i cant reproduce it at will but it happens..

i find a system reboot puts it back where it should be.. my answer is never entirely trust a benchmark only on its first run after a fresh reboot.. repeat runs can have strange affects.. either things getting memory cached and producing higher results than should be or in my case with 2005 wierd much lower ones..

trog

yeah it's prolly just decreased memory efficiency the longer you have your system running without a restart, nothing to worry about.
