Hi Guys,
My main rig was configured as a dual boot with Vista 64 and Windows XP. But I am not using XP anymore. By default, the system boots into Vista although there is a selection screen in the start-up.
The XP is installed on a separate HDD. I was tempted to just format that drive, but better sense prevailed and I decided to come here and ask for advice. So whats the best way to do this? I would like the option screen during start-up to disappear.... and for the computer to load the Vista straightaway.

My Thanks in advance!

Take out the XP drive and see what happens. Worst case is that the computer doesn't boot anymore. In that case, just boot of the Vista DVD and run the startup repair, you usually have to run it two or three times, then the computer will boot to Vista without the XP drive just fine.

goto system properties and then goto startup and recovery and you should be able to delete the windows boot order in the boot.ini file

THIS ALSO WILL HELP WITH VISTA

msconfig, boot.ini tab

run msconfig

No boot ini to work with :(

MSCONFIG, boot tab, remove the XP option, format the XP drive. Probably need to do that from Safe mode, or in a different rig as Windows will squawk about there being system files on that drive.
