I think I have top of silicon lottery i5 8600K. 4.7GHz at 1.2V and currently 5.0GHz at 1.32V. I want to delid it now and was thinking about direct die watercolling. But idk if CPU without IHS has enough height to go above that bracket which holds it in place. Will the base of CPU cooler be able to reach the die?

You will need to remove the bracket from the motherboard for direct die.

Usually a delid drops the temps significantly with just a repaste. So try it with the IHS plate reinstalled first to see how the temps look.

You're about average v-core for the clocks. It'll get hungry at 5.2ghz for sure. But with the advantage of being easier to cool than its 8700K big brother, it's a reasonable clock speed goal.

Good Luck.
