My boss asked me to print out 40 holiday cards for an upcoming office party were having. He bought the Avery printer to print them onto, it uses template 8387 but I dislike all the ones M$ Office has. How difficult would it be to try and make something nicer using photoshop? My photoshop skills are limited, but I'd like to try and present him with something nicer than the cheesy templates.

Just figure out the dimensions (screen pixels or real world) of the space you are working in, start a new image in photoshop with that canvas size, and go to town! Just save it as something easy to work with (JPG or PNG) and then paste it into the Avery template.

You need some knowledge of Photoshop and a bit of artistic talent. Get started and if you run into trouble, then ask more specific questions. To answer the question you asked all we can say is it varies based upon your knowledge.

*You may like using Adobe Illustrator for this task if you have it.

Oh, I guess you are asking us to actually make one for you? If erocker is on the right track, then take his advice and post back with some requirements of the image (titles, sayings, logos, names, dimensions, etc) and I'm sure someone will help out.

THIS would also be a good place to start...
