DeviceID change

Hello.

I have a question on the possibility of changing the DeviceID.

Reading the various comments, it looks like this field cannot be changed because of conflicts with a hash value in the card's BIOS.
These comments referred to the pair of Vendor ID/Video Card ID.

In my card (HD 4670 mobility with device id 9488), I have the following:

Reported chip type: M96 (this is equivalent to RV730)
Vendor: 1002 - ATI
Video card: unknown

Questions:
1. Why the id 9488 doesn't show up anyhere in RBE 1.25?
2. Why the video card shows as unknown? Maybe it's not considered in this card's hash vaue?
3. Can I change the chip type to RV730?
4. Any way to change the 9488 id (wherever it may be hiding) to 949C (another RV730 model, Firepro V7750)?

The purpose is to masquerade like a Firepro so its drivers can be installed without the need for a softmod.
I couldn't improve yet on the known softmods and all of them disable the DXVA support of the card.

Thanks for any pointers.

The card is displayed as unknown because it's not listed in RBE's internal database. You can still change the deviceID using the built-in hex editor (click hex dump and then, on the right side of the new window, double-click the two deviceID locations). Remember the exchanged byte positions when doing so.
