Did not find a driver sapphire radeon4870 x2 2gb

Well i searched this forum for about 30 minutes... and saw a bunch of PPL with the same problem...

Problem:

After installing the video card... windows xp got me a black screen at the login screen
Runned in safe mode it works fine, but when i go to install the catalyst 9.6 driver i get the following message:

Setup did not find a driver for your system or current hardware (or something like that)

Now... any solutions?????
i cant be running on safe mode forever lol...

well.. snce i can only run my pc on safe mode... i cant uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ it says it cannot be remove while on safe mode or with windows installer not installed.. since i know i got the windows installer... i´m still stuck at this.. all the other sections are done properly but stuck at this one.. and no restarting insnt solving the problem i still cant install the drivers

Welcome to TPU

Try using driver sweeper or and driver cleaner. See if that removes some unwanted bs.

You checked in safe mode see if the monitor is running 60Hz ?.. If not worth a check at least.
