Oh my gosh, old system :respect:
GT 240 :toast:
Btw more infos on your friend's specs :D

Should be able to run anything upto a 4850/5770/gtx 250 all of which only require 1 6pin pcie connector, though wont take the full 150w from the pcie slot and 6 pin connector, so should have spare for the rest of his system provided its not a 130w quad core etc

ok well i know that it supports max of e6700 i dont think it supports quads

i also pretty sure it has no pci-e 6 pin but i have some molex adaptors laying around anyway so that's np

PS: i don't have the full specs as my friend isn't very computer literate and i can't physically access the system in question at this time due to reasons beyond the scope of this forum..

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66
Then yeah, HD4850 or GTS 250 with 2 Molex => 6 Pin PCI-e Adapter :toast:
With 2Gb (or even 4) of Ram then fire it up to a 22 inch monitor 1680 x 1050 :toast:

P/S: Not sure, well if he runs a slower processor then a GT 240 or HD5670

Will a 4850 really be ok on a 305w dell psu..?

You should check back my GPU for Pentium 4 System topic
I remembered a guy said that he uses a 5770 in 325W PSU

Yea but that's a 5770, a 4850 is much more power hungry?

ATI says at least a 450W PSU :D
I saw a review in YouTube (ComputerTV to be honest), an HD4850 can run well in 325W PSU
If it's not possible, then go with the GT 240. IT IS amazing man :D
Btw haven't stopped my GPU hunt yet. One more month and it will be my 16th birthday :toast:
Still looking for a new video card :D

It's only 300w though its not as bad as crappy 300w psu's it has dual 12vrails that output 264w, so he should be fine with any of those cards, either that or 5670/gts240 range
