Well, I used Microsoft's program for updating Direct-X automatically. Everything seems to be fine while downloading. When it's time to install this message appears. Is there any way I can fix that or delete the updated files so I can give it one more try?

P.S: I checked the Cryptographic services. They are started.

Start-run-services.msc . Check to see if Cryptographic services is running. If you don't see that option, run Windows Update and make sure you install "Microsoft Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider Package: x86 (KB909520)". Otherwise, I think you might have corrupted something deep in XP that's only fixable by reinstall (but then again, I'm no Alecstar).

(but then again, I'm no Alecstar).

And, then again, I'm not always right w/ fixes either... I take guesses @ times, & come out right mostly (when I AM right, that is, & the person turns up fine afterwards)...

I'd say I bat around 33-50% on helping folks in fixes @ best... it's tough to do, this is a complex field. Things that look like 1 thing, might actually be quite another, is what I have found @ times... others not, & I "guess" right.

This field's given me a new respect for folks like Doctors, & car tech/mechanics... it's a LOT like them in many ways, as far as troubleshooting.
