Hmm most cell phones require the shell to be taken off. I tried that once. I couldn't reassemble the phone.

the phone is HTC Libra (SMT5800) Verizon.

I search the internet and found posts at FixYa that talked about the same thing. one dude there said that he slept with phone and now keys don't work, so i guess those keys don't like too much pressure applied.
the only solution they offer is to take it back to store, but i got this phone of eBay....

HTC? Oh man... I had a HTC Touch HD once and that thing was as fragile as thin ice...

Well I see two unscrewed screws in the pic, and maybe you actually have to bend that metal plate?

i tried bending that thin metal but it's not going anywhere. i guess, with enough force i can rip off that metal, but i will not be able to put it back together.
i also thought that the silver part, on the front, was removable, just like the transparent piece of plastic that protects screen, but they feel like one piece. i tried bending, but no results....

i give up.

EDIT:
while reassembling, i found the reason why some keys didn't work - the thin data cable got slightly cut and there is no way for me to fix that. its to small
