"Display driver stopped responding and has stopped
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 191.07 stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

This happens randomly and is not consistent. Games that have this occuring: RedFaction, LostPlanet, Hawx dx10, and other GPU intensive games. Guildwars does not give this error.

Game goes blank but sound still is audible. Ending the game through task is possible. Running 3d games again is at half the fps. Only a restart would fix it.

This is also evident in earlier drivers. I already tried Safe Mode > Uninstall > Restart > Safemode > driver cleaner. Installed a different version.

And still the problem persists.

Ive looking through the net and it seems no one can give a direct resolution. M$ has this automated email support that does not answer my issue.

I dont want to clean reinstall / run backup, since installing my games is a pita.
I dont want to downgrade to XP.

Specs is at avvy.

Is your GFX OCed?

Yes. My gfix card is OCd.. is there anyway this can be mitigated? Because the OC is stable. And I dont want to get the clocks down because of this one..

At least try to run the system without the OC for a while to see if it is the OC which causes the problems...

Ok thanks for the idea. Will do.

Assuming you don't get errors with the card at stock, your OC is not stable. I can pass furmark for 8+ hours with 1512 shaders, but anything higher than 1458 will crash in games for me

XP was able to still churn out with the OC though.. Win 7 might be a little more touchy about it.. (Perhaps with them using d3d for rendering desktop.. although I do have my aero off and etc.)

So yeah. Had to bring down the OC to 650 core. Was able to play for 16 hours/day again.

Thanks.
