Display port doesn't work, do you have to enable it somewhere?

Hello here, and thanks in advance for any answers I might read.

I bought an old pc with a gtx 1080 ti, it is equipped with three display ports and one in hdmi.
The processor is an i5 9600 kf, I have 16 gigabytes of RAM, motherboard is Gigabyte z390.
This machine runs very well, I only use it for artistic creation (drawing etc.) and to watch videos.
So I'd like to connect two monitors to it, but it's impossible to get a signal with any of the display ports.
Is the problem with my card?
I have installed the latest driver from Nvidia, or do I absolutely need a monitor with a Display port input?
Indeed E doesn't have a monitor with a display port, but I have 3 display to hdmi adapters, and nothing to do. I'm not a pro! Thank you for all the help!
merci à Google translate.

They should just work, but could be something else. What are the monitors you want to connect? Not certain but could be something to do with DP version. I'm sure someone else will be along who will know for sure.

Maybe its the card, since dp also provide power like HDMI, it provides 5v 100mA.
And dp to hdmi is an active conversion, so it may not work if there's no power.

me fit rire a la première lecture.

ok, Thanks, my monitors are a Samsung and an LG 22'

Ok I understand, thanks, so is there a way to power this kind of adapter? How to identify the DP version ? in the control panel Nvidia

Out of the 3 ports, none would be able to supply so. Thank you so much for wanting to help me! It's not a big deal, it's just that I wish I had two screens for comfort!

c+ long en passant pas translate..dsl je suis trés mauvais en Anglais.

Could you fill in your specs here if it's not too much trouble. It will help others to help you.

You could try this too, i did it with my 1080ti when i had it with no problems.

Thanks friend, I'll do the necessary for the specifications, and also for the update link, but I have to go join Morpheus, because tomorrow I'm starting early! Plus it's Monday so it's hard!!

hi Sacoutechernobill,

My current pc has a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X mobo too, plus a Gigabyte GTX1080Ti.

I bought an old pc with a gtx 1080 ti, it is equipped with three display ports and one in hdmi. = This seems a bit strange, as my 1080Ti has 3 x HDMI + 1 X DP ports.

My monitors are = BenQ 27" - 1080P and is connected to HDMI and Acer 27" 1440P and is connected to DP port, and it works fine.

What are your monitor models & specifications ??

Waterforce Extreme, and almost every other Nvidia card in like the past 7 years has been standard 3 DP and 1 HDMI. Your eyes are playing tricks on you.

If you are using adapters, you may just need to try a better quality active one. I don't think all passive adapters will work when connected to a regular DP port (like on GPU) and not a fancy one (DP+ or something?) that does the conversion internally.

Might wanna check your cables for a bad one. i.e. swap them around with different monitors and different DP outputs.

Ooops = yes correction = 3 DP and 1 HDMI.

yes I'm thinking of looking into buying an active adapter, which is powered, I did the display port update thanks to the link above, it's still the same, no change.. I'll come back to tell you whether or not I managed to get a display via Display Port! On this good day to all and @ later thank you again.

I don't think you understand the difference between active vs. passive. Active just means that the adapter/cable itself includes a microchip that does the conversion processing that is usually done by a DP++ port (where you would be able to use a passive cable). It doesn't require external power or outwardly look different, it's still just a cable or adapter. Something like this:

Plugable Active DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Driverless Connect Any DisplayPort-Enabled PC or Tablet to an HDMI Monitor, TV or Projector for Ultra-HD Streaming (HDMI 2.0 up to 4K 3840x2160 @60Hz) : Amazon.ca: Electronics
