Hey guys,
I bought a USB device that allows me to put my pink and green leads " from my speakers and my headset mic " I connected them in and put it in my USB device and my sound seems pretty different! I am uncertain if it is better or worse?? But I normally had a hard time hearing music from my left speakers until I connected them to a USB device instead..now I hear the right and left perfectly!! It appears better but I am also not sure what the story is?

Is the USB connection better??

I also have a sound card..is this making my sound card not being used??? since the connections are no longer plugged into the sound card??

Thanks guys.

The USB device is basically a sound card so no, you are no longer using your sound card installed in your PCI slot.

i have a pair of plantronics circumral(or whatever) with the usb dongle and i love the sound. it's a lot cleaner and has deeper base then the input onthe soundcard.

will ruin ur gaming using a usb headset too, coz of the cpu utilisation of the usb port.

U can set the base/treble on a decent s.card much more than a usb one.

USB utilization isn't that high, specially on todays quad cores.

As for settings, that's completely unrelated to USB, USB is merely the bus it's connected to.

AHh so I am better off without the USB so?

What if I buy speakers that only comes with a USB connection..will I not be able to use my sound card??

theres no way something that exspensive can be usb only.. thats rediculous, i would have to say that have a regular port in them for sound cards

I can't find any information about that tho! Only USB connection is what I can find. I really want them so bad but I don't want to get them if I can't even use my sound card!

It will cost me a total of 180 Euros for these so surely they are not only USB?? Anyone confirm this?

I have a Bose Companion 5 series speakers for my system. They plug in USB and thats it. No green or any other wires. So it is not utilizing my sound card.

Seriously???
Is there anyway you can use your USB device with your sound card??? what is the point in that?

So...it looks like I need to look for different speakers then?

It appears so. But my audio was on-board anyway.
You could always buy a surround sound system and hook your pc up to it with your sound card :)

I can't get surround sound as I do not have the space, 2.1 is all I can go for!
Damn I can't believe I have to go for a different set of speakers....with todays great technologys and then this!! ohhhh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..........

most ppl usually don't buy a sound card... that's why :p

Ahhhhhh but that does not mean you need to use a god damn USB cable!!! you got a small little pink and green hole in every single mainboard!! WHY OH WHY CHOOSE USB when you have that damn option in every single system!!!!!!!

I don't see why it would improve your sound because there's a 3.5mm jack on the usb thing anyway =/

SRS Tru Surround will not work if you use the AUX! I am not going to bother with a new set of speakers :(
