This question returns whenever there is a new GPU release. I know Doom is well optimized and it shows. I treat it similarly to synthetic benchmarks. Perhaps I'm wrong, but in my opinion it show GPU raw power well.
The question mentioned is:

"How come AMD's cards perform on par or better than Nvidia's in Doom, but Elden Ring or CS2 not so much."

I read RX9060 XT 8GB review and again, I saw the card performing the same as RTX5060Ti. What gives? Can someone enlighten me?

Its mostly to do with if the game engine is better optimized to run on AMD hardware/Nvidia hardware or it`s well tuned for both! We get "hung up" on half a dozen fps difference here and there, when in reality, if the amount is half decent, it`s not that easy to notice.

Doom is a big hit on the PS/Xbox which both use AMD internals so it stands to reason it would be decently optimized for it. The whole things a minefield which can leave your head in a spin...

For whatever reason, RDNA4 isn’t performing up to par on those games. It’s probably gonna take some time for AMD to sort out, like the good ole amd finewine memes which just meant AMD didn’t do a good job initially.

From my anecdotal experience this is correct for CS2 as of this moment, I would have expected more FPS from my beefy card. Look at it like this I suppose, the actual RAW power is what’s carrying said games thus far rather than optimizing from AMDs or the devs side.

Doom eternal is given, AMD hardware has a monopoly on consoles.
