DP version check

I had a problem with my GTX 980ti which is DP1.2 version not playing nice with my new monitor which is DP 1.4 version. I have just flashed nvidia's displayport firmware updater, which seemed to be successful. How do i check the DP version on my video card/monitor to see if they now match?

I don't think the DP version is something that you can change through firmware updates

How about those fancy G-Sync HDR monitors, eh? If you got one and hooked it up to your GeForce graphics card using DisplayPort, you might be met with a blank...

According to Nvidia, the actual cause of the issue is that the affected cards are missing DisplayPort features necessary to talk to these monitors, so the patch implements those features in the cards' UEFI GOP.

My DP monitors have the ability to drop down one DP level in the onboard settings (1.2>1.1 and 1.3>1.2)

I can't see no item in my menu for that. Apparently now both my video card and monitor are DP 1.4. I know the monitor is as it shows it in the menu. I will just assume the updater worked as stated and updated the card to 1.4.

It made it have a compatability layer

Well it does seem to boot ok now, and no VGA LED lit with the OS running.

gave it the ability to send an answer 1.3/1.4 DP monitors could accept, instead of screaming gibberish at it

It's so easy to forget about that firmware update they released, i've had a few nvidia GPU's pass through with issues and dont always remember about it

I used this when I had my GTX 1080 Ti and it's easy and works if not already applied to the graphics card.

Thats right 1.4 changes hardware layers.
