DRAM Calculator Memory Type

Hey guys,

You've probably had this question 2 million times but i am newbie and need some help please.

this is the first time I have attempted to set timings and properly over clock my RAM. i have used the Auto setting on my M/B but i can't get anything over 3000 M/T's even then the stability isn't 100%.

Anyways my issue I don't know what to set my memory type to in DRAM Calc. I think it is Hynix CJR / DJR because of whats in the part number, can someone either confirm or point me in the right direction. I appreciate any help, thank you.

Yes it's cjr djr can you post more info about your build and timmings at the moment
 
Gonna need way more info than that......... manufacturer and model#of the kit itself, if it's G.skill or Corsair take a pic of the sticker on the DIMM.

If it's G.skill the sticker will tell you with certainty. If not, then the rated speed/timings of the kit can somewhat vaguely infer whether CJR or DJR, but generally the timings preferences are similar.

System specs, and also install and post a screenshot of Zentimings


DRAM calc is merely a very vague suggestion of what *might* work, and often when it comes to subtimings and secondary voltages makes no sense whatsoever.

If Zentimings is unable to read DRAM voltage, visit BIOS to see what is being set.

Sure. Is this what you are after? like i said i am completely new to Memory Overclocking and I know next to nothing about it. i don't even know what timimings are about exactly lol. Memory is currently at default speeds just due to my instability issues.

CPU Ryzen 3900X
M/B ROG STRIX X570-F

Hi, Got a few Voltage readings there, does it show what you need?

First go to bios and enable xmp and than dont mess with ram, you need to learn first

It's the right idea, but because this is just 2133 JEDEC profile, it doesn't tell us anything, all the subs and voltages are for 2133.

Again, sticker will say for sure, but I'm leaning towards CJR for your 3600 16-19-19 GTZNC kit. Pretty similar to what I used to have.

To the best of my knowledge, for G.skill -C denotes CJR to distinguish from similar speed B-die kits. G.skill should be keeping all of their DJR in their 4000+ kits still. Doesn't mean much, both work the same way.

You said "not stable", can you still at least boot with XMP and get into Windows to post up a Zentimings shot?

Here's my old kit of CJR on my old 3700X. It was a bit of a bad CPU so 3600 required a lot of work specifically on VDDG_IOD and VDDG_CCD to get stable:

I enabled XMP and took a screenie, it's runs but will randomly BSOD.

Check your Event Viewer > Administrative Events, do you have any WHEA-Logger events that coincide with the BSODs? Specifically, any described as Bus/Interconnect in the description?

Your VSOC might be a little low for Ryzen 3000 (my 3700X needed 1.1V for 3600). Can up it a bit up to 1.15V or so max, shouldn't need more for 3600. Alternatively you could bump up your VSOC load line a bit (Digi+ VRM tweaker menu or something, under the Tweaker main menu), just make sure it's SOC load line not CPU load line.

It looks like the board applies 1.1V like it should, but the SOC VRM is a bit droopy.

I'm assuming the board is applying the XMP 1.35V VDIMM properly, but you may need to bump VDIMM a little bit given it's a BSOD (what's the error message?). The timings look fine for XMP auto-trained.

Remember to use A2/B2 slot if you don't.

CJR and DJR are quite similar, but CJR often dislike over 1.4v, while DJR can run 1.5v+ fine. DJR can run RFC about 30-40 lower than CJR.

Check event viewer like mentioned above and 1.1v soc can be smart.
