I installed windows 64 bit after I blew up my computer and ordered extra ram in case the stuff I had was fried. Heard 4gigs wasn't really utilized in anything under a 64 bit install.

The install was over a 32 bit windows install and turned into 4 hours with microsoft and I ended up having to do a quick format on the hd anyway.

Problem is that format didn't catch/wipe all of the 32 bit system off somehow. I downloaded some optimized drivers for 64 bit vista for my 8800 and my system wouldn't take them, it thought this was a 32 bit system still. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?

Are you positive those weren't 32bit drivers? Honestly, if you can, use Vista 32bit. Otherwise make sure to format and delete all partitions on the disk and try reinstalling Vista.

I'm pretty certain they were the 64 bit ones, I've never done a quick format before and I have no idea how it could still have traces of the old install there but I swear it does seem to.

There's no partitions though, when I load up the computer it gives me an option to use a (recovered) version of windows which results in blue screen. Seems I'm destined for another damn format.

Also, a game I play called Star Wars Galaxies will not play now because it's only allocating 250mb of ram to run the game and the game can utilize up to two gig of ram. Anyone know how to adjust that up? This is system ram, not the card ram.
