Can you make a dual boot with two xp installations using the same key? Or do you need different copies?

Yes, why would you want a dual boot setup with the same OS though?

Not sure why he would, but I dual boot XP on my other system simply because 1 is for everyday use, and the other install is specifically for music production because it has been cut up, almost no patches installed, no virus protection, no fat extra drivers and software, lots of services not running simply to keep the system as stable as possible...

Anyone that has done music production on their computer knows exactly what I mean when I say they need to be literally as rock solid as humanly possible and they will still crash constantly.

And your every day use installation doesn't run stable enough to edit some music?

Thats exactly it, they really really need to be locked down, I don't even have my network drivers installed.... Music production software is horribly written and everyone that does it highly recommends you do ANYTHING you possibly can to get literally EVERYTHING you can, not to load and not to install unless you NEED it.

It's really sad and its really messed up, the standard install doesn't crash, I lock up programs doing production on average every 2-3 hours, on a standard use install that average changes to about an hour, sometimes within an easy 10-20 minutes...

Pretty ridiculous, and I don't understand it....

It's also not editing, its using numerous midi devices, along with effects, live recording and sampling.
