DVXA + MPC-HC 1.3.1774 [K lite Mega codec 5.90] is broke [solved]

Need assistance getting this file to play through dxva.

Divx h.264 filter is handling it the now, but that isn't using the gpu. I am using the codec pack k-lite mega codec pack. Everything is working fine for another file.

Isn't the latest version 5.9.0?

He is already using MPC-HC :p
It is also bundled with K-lite.
The problem is the guy is using some 2 year old version, or he have some settings messed up.
uninstall k-like crap then only install haali media splitter, latest mpc-hc from xvidvideo.ru and latest ffdshow from xvidvideo.ru and you can play most files including blu-ray (if you have anydvd hd installed)

1. Install latest mpc-hc from http://www.xvidvideo.ru/media-player-classic-home-cinema-x86-x64
2. Install latest ffdshow from http://www.xvidvideo.ru/ffdshow-tryouts-project-x86-x64/
3. Install latest Haali Splitter from http://haali.su/mkv/
4. Install latest drivers for video card, Catalyst 10.4 added H.264 L5.1 support
5. try playing a file and volla

mpc-hc revision 1819 added ATi L5.1 support so you MUST use that to play that file you posted video/audio info about when using dxva

I use MPC HC and the latest ati drivers without a codec pack and all my videos are working without hickup? maybe try uninstalling k-lite. There may be a conflict between k-lite and the built in codecs in mpc hc.

Sorry yeah it's 5.9, typo late at light.

Yeah it's a clean install, like I said, without fail I can play some files in DXVA, and MPC Video decoder will handle it showing my graphics card and utilisation is visible on my gpu.

However the files not working load up Divx h264 and that uses only my CPU even though MPC-HC still reports in the bottom left when loading the video [DVXA LOADED].

Also look carefully at the file that does work, it's L5.1, and I am using 10.3opengl4 drivers from late March.

I'll try dropping in a newer MPC-HC.

doesn't matter that it's L5.1 or not, ATi driver before 10.4/a can't play video with above certain number of reference frame which is this :
Code:
Format settings, ReFrames :

Dropped in good old 1.3.1246 x64, my file became a blocky mess xD Good getting somewhere, but mpc filter wasn't showing, just microsoft dtv filter.

Dropped in 1.3.1821 x64, and file is normal. However although mpc-video decoder is there, it says no DXVA when it does show bitstream for the files that worked before and they are fine and working properly.

Alright I'm giving 10.4 another chance to see if dvxa activates. Seems when the ReFrames are ~15 dvxa doesn't start, all my other content is usually 11 or a lot less.

It broke 848x480 and below video though, no matter what the ref frame is.

Finished installing 10.4, now the broken file works fine on gpu and the other files aren't happy at all lol.

However, I can contradict your statement as this file looks like it is working fine:

Going to check if 10.4a has L5.1 support.

10.4a seems to be working for L5.1 and with 720p files plus that odd file I posted that also seems to work.
Other content gets either stuck frames or blocks. Looks like I'll need to switch back and forth in mpc-hc as 10.4a has the loading time fix for bc2 which is handy.

Really odd, this file is working:

Case half closed. Something wrong with the build included in K-lite that makes it prefer divx on 720p content in some cases. Using a different version of mpc-hc solves that issue.

Only thing left is for ATI to sort out their drivers. Editing title.

So all files can be played fine now? strange... I've still got issues, oh well it's not like I use DXVA anyway :p

Not all files. Still some not behaving right lol.
I like using dxva, it's annoying that ati cards just up to 3d clocks to do no work xD

Isn't CCCP supports this by default with their lastest version? (just asking)

Yeah they both do, just I hit snag with this version (5.90) with certain encoded types and resolution.

Now the only problem is ATI sorting out their drivers.
