Out of curiousity, Is it possible to flash an ECS NForce 3-A mothorbard's bios with another Nforce 3 bios of another manufacturer?

If the other board is nearly the same, various onboard things might fail though. They flashed a PC-DL with a Iwill.. something800 BIOS and it booted, though the irq tables and such were totally messed up, many things didnt work. It did add nocona support, which was the whole point.

Thanks, what if the manufacturer is the same, but you attempt to flash to a higher model number?

If the chipset is different it's a guaranteed no-go. Though I wouldn't mess with it unless you can hotflash the chip when it goes wrong.
