EDGE Chromium Seems to copy cache from other browsers. So Win 10 2004 downloads EDGE Chromium as a system update with no normal means of uninstalling, ok fine i guess (but not happy about it). So after windows downloaded it i closed the EDGE Chromium's unavoidable take over main welcome screen and killed it in task manager. Then i noticed during my ccleaning that when ever i use my default FF web browser that the EDGE Chromium cache matched in size almost perfectly my FF cache (WTF)... I tested this theory for several days before finially doing an unapproved force uninstall via Command prompts and then manually deleting the folder that holds the folder for EDGE Chromium CACHE...Now tested and the issues is gone! This seems very unethical and illegal as cookies are there and cookies also hold login passwords and the likes!

P.S. Easy search on internet provides removal instructions for EDGE Chromium.
p.s.s i never once used or launched EDGE Chromium.
p.s.s.s I do use a ram drive with redirect for temp files and a redirect for browser cache, it may have something to do with it but i doubt it!

Then remove it. You can bypass the uninstallable nature

I had the option in Add/Remove Programs in the control panel to uninstall the new Edge when it was downloaded through Windows Update. This was on a retro build running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium.

Cookies do not store passwords. Unless they're malicious by design.

ok sorry for not being specific , cookies contian encrypted info it takes to keep you logged into a website. Jeesh and this is what you have to say about the issue? Nice and very helpful thnx.

Wrong again. Encrypted info can be decrypted to get to the original info. Cookies hold hashed info, which cannot be used for that.
I was just saying, even if what you say happens, happens, it's not as malicious as you suggest it is.

your flat out statement that I'm wrong about the possibility of cookies containing encrypted information that may or may not be personal to me is a big fat LIE (a fast internet search would have revealed to you that cookies do at times have encrypted info in them)! while normally it is NOT the norm it indeed does happen! I know about the hashes and i also know about the potential cookie encryption! Instead of trying to derail the thread with lies try to be helpful please or just go to another thread... yeah actually please just do that.:kookoo: I stick with "unethical " when a browser copies another browser's cache with out permission being given.:p

ps you're the only one here that used the word "malicious " in the whole thread!

Hi,
Not really surprised I'm sure with all the telemetry ms has all activity anyway so if chredge has it at least it may come in handy to a user

I delete everything on close with firefox so I already know deleting something just ships a copy to ms.

yeah my FF is set up for delete close too but that didnt keep Edge Crapium from copy my shit on over and the FF delete on close didn't delete it from Edge Chromium cache hostage take over.

Hi,
I setup chredge as close to the same as firefox as I could and tried it briefly so about all that can be done, win-10 does what it wants ultimately anyway

Too much like chrome for me frankly, opening a tab behind the main tab is just silly stupid and no setting to control that annoyance like ie11 and I believe even oldedge had so deal breaker off the bat.
